About the craft

The Mangalagiri handloom fabrics are woven in Mangalagiri district of Andhra Pradesh. 

Pen Kalamkari is an art form practised in Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh wherein the "kalam" or pen is used for drawing ofthe subject and filling in the colors, is entirely hand worked. The motifs are inspired by scenes from epics and mythology and flora, fauna.

    • Dupatta: Powerloom Mangalagiri cotton 2.3 and above 

Fabric care

  • First time dry clean
  • Wash with mild detergent afterwards
  • Do not soak for long hours

Note

  • To prepare the cloth for painting, it goes through the application of many natural ingredients like buffalo milk and fermented jiggery, and thats the reason that these fabrics have an inherent smell. 
  • The product colour may slightly vary from image due to camera lights, your phone settings and fabric sheerness. All shoots are taken in outdoor daylight .
  • Slight imperfections in handcrafted products is inherent owing to the manual process involved.
